Master Treatments List

A treatment is the media or physical collateral through which you deliver an offer. For example, a treatment can be a flyer distributed in a newspaper or a brochure you mail to customers. You can associate a master treatment with an activity or with an activity offer. You can also create activity treatments.

Example:
You work for a company that operates hardware stores in several cities. Your latest marketing campaign includes an offer where all the customers who purchase a power tool are eligible to receive a free screwdriver. After you associate this offer with the activity for the marketing campaign, you create two treatments that use different channels:
  • A direct mail message to send to existing customers who have purchased a power tool in the past.
  • An advertising flyer to include in the Sunday edition of newspapers in the cities where you have stores.

Details

Field Description
Treatment Code

Type a treatment code, which you can use to track the use of the treatment in activities and segmentations. Your organization defines the format for treatment codes.

Treatment Type

Select the type of treatment. A treatment type is a system type configured by your system administrator.

Activity-Specific

If set to Yes, this field indicates that the treatment is associated with a specific activity and cannot be associated with any other activity. If set to No, this field indicates that you can associate the treatment with any activities. You can edit this field only if it is set to Yes. To edit it, you must access the activity-specific treatment in the activity's Treatments module.

Status

Select the treatment's status. A treatment must have the Active status before you can associate it with another object. If you change a treatment's status from Active to Inactive, the treatment is still available to any activities with which it is associated, but it cannot be associated with any additional objects.

Channel

Optionally, select the medium or method, such as television or direct mail, through which to deliver the treatment. If you do not select any channels, the treatment is available to all channels. A channel is a system type configured by your system administrator.

Digital Assets

Select the digital assets to associate with the treatment.

Cost Details

In this section you track the estimated costs and actual costs to deliver a treatment. Adding cost details to a treatment is optional.

Note:
Cost details in the master treatment are copied when you add the treatment to an activity. You can edit the cost details in the activity treatment. Editing the cost details of an activity treatment that is not activity specific does not change the master treatment's cost details. However, when you edit the cost details for an activity-specific treatment, the changes appear in the master treatment.
Field Description
Currency Code

Select the currency in which to store the costs.

For information about using multiple currencies with the application, see Using Aprimo Internationally. For information about the currencies available in your Aprimo implementation, contact your system administrator.

If you change the currency code after you enter estimated and actual costs, the costs do not automatically convert to the new currency code. You must manually change the costs.

Treatment Cost Type

Select the type of treatment cost you want to record. Each row of cost details must record a different treatment cost type. A treatment cost type is a system type.

Estimated Unit Cost

Type the estimated cost to deliver the treatment to a single recipient.

Actual Unit Cost

Type the actual cost to deliver the treatment to a single recipient.

Additional Fields, Sections, and Tabs

Your system administrator can create additional fields for some objects and make them available for certain system types. Additional fields appear on the Details tab in the Additional Details section or in other sections or on other tabs that the system administrator creates.

For more information about an additional field, section, or tab, contact your system administrator. For more information about additional fields in general, see Additional Fields.
