You use system types to categorize objects such as activities, audience members, and materials. System types can also determine the extended attributes in an object. In most cases, you must define the system types for an object before you can add records for that kind of object.

Type Purpose Examples

Calendar Events

This type categorizes the calendar events users add to the calendar. Calendars can be configured to include only certain calendar event types.

Car Rentals

This type specifies the options for a rental car.

  • Economy
  • Mid-sized

  • Van

Cells

This type categorizes groups of recipients who receive a particular offer, treatment, or incentive.

Change Order Categories

This type categorizes change orders, which are tasks associated with an activity.

  • Internal change
  • Customer mandated change

Channels

This type lists the media or methods through which offers and treatments are delivered to audiences.

When you specify an offer or treatment with a channel, the offer or treatment can be added only to activities associated with that channel. When no channel is specified, the offer or treatment can be added to any activity.

Clients

This type classifies the companies with which you do business.

Commitments

This type categorizes commitments and determines the extended attributes available for a commitment.

This type identifies the function an audience member fills at a company.

This type classifies plans according to the progress made on them.
