Cells in an Activity

A cell is a group of customers. A treatment package is a treatment, or a combination of a channel, treatment, and wave. All of the customers in a cell can receive the same treatment package, or a portion of the cell's customers can receive one treatment package and other portions of the same cell can receive other treatment packages.

A cell does not use information from your customer database. It is a tool that helps you plan campaigns and estimate and track costs of activity offers, treatments, and incentives.

Example:
You work for a bank that provides four types of credit card accounts: bronze, silver, gold, and platinum. Your current campaign gives customers who have bronze, silver, or gold accounts the opportunity to upgrade to platinum. You create several offer treatments. You create a cell for each treatment so that you can associate each treatment with a wave.

Details

Field Description
Cell Code

Type a code to track the use of the cell. Your organization defines the format for cell codes.

Cell Type

Select the cell type. A cell type is a system type.

Champion Cell

Select the champion cell for reporting and evaluation purposes. A champion cell is a cell that has provided successful results in the past. You use a champion cell as a control cell to evaluate this cell's performance.

Offer

Select the offer to associate with the cell. Only offers in the current activity are available. The offer determines the treatments available to the cell.

Source Code

Type a source code for the cell, which you can use to track the cell's use in the activity. Your organization defines the format for the source code.

Estimated Quantity

Type the estimated number of recipients in the cell. The activity type status must be configured to allow editing estimates.

Actual Quantity

Type the number of recipients who received a treatment. The activity type status must be configured to allow editing actuals. The value changes if you update the actual counts with segmentation data.

Estimated Response

This field indicates the estimated number of recipients who will respond to the treatment.

Actual Response

This field indicates the number of recipients who responded to the treatment. To edit this field, the activity type status must be configured to allow the editing of actuals. The value will change if you update the actual counts with segmentation data.

Estimated Cost

This field indicates the estimated cost of the cell's treatments and incentives.

Actual Cost

This field indicates the actual cost of the cell's treatments and incentives. The value is calculated by adding the actual treatment costs and the actual incentive costs. This field is recalculated when you update the actual counts with segmentation data.

Estimated Revenue

This field appears if the Show Estimated Revenue in Offers and Cells system parameter is set to Yes. This field indicates the estimated revenue the cell will generate. The value is calculated by multiplying the value in the Estimated Response field by the value in the offer's Revenue Per Offer field.

Execution Information

Before you can add Execution Information to cells, an Execution System must be defined in the Administration -> Integration Section -> Execution System page

Field Description
Execution System

When an execution system is defined on the Execution System page, a defaulted system will appear. The default will the first system showing in the list (alphabetical order).

Execution

Select an execution. This list will be populated with available executions associated to the execution system selected.

Execution Link

This field will populate automatically once an execution system is selected. In page view mode, this will be a hyperlink taking the user directly to the execution.

Execution Status

A read only field that shows the status of the execution selected. This field will be updated when selecting an execution or when the Activity Cell Integration Sync runs.

Execution ID

A read only field that shows the ID of the execution selected. This field will be updated when selecting an execution or when the Activity Cell Integration Sync runs.

Execution Last Sync Time

A read only field that shows the Last Sync Time of the execution selected. This field will be updated when selecting an execution or when the Activity Cell Integration Sync runs.

Execution Versions

A read only field that shows the number of versions of the execution selected. This field will be updated when selecting when the Activity Cell Integration Sync runs.

Treatments

Before you can add treatments to a cell, you must select an offer that has treatments.

Field Description
Channel

Optionally, select a channel. Only the channels associated with the activity or offer are available.

Treatment

Select the treatment. Only treatments associated with the offer are available. The treatments available for selection are those associated with the channel and those that have no associated channel.

Wave

Select the wave to associate with the treatment. Only the waves defined for the activity are available.

Selecting a wave is optional.

% of Cell

Type the percentage of recipients who will receive the treatment.

Estimated List Size

This field indicates the estimated number of recipients that will receive the treatment. The value is calculated by multiplying the value entered for the % of Cell field by the value entered for the Estimated Quantity field.

Estimated Response Rate

Type the percentage of recipients you expect to respond to the treatment. To edit this field, the activity type status must be configured to allow the editing of estimates.

Estimated Responders

This field indicates the estimated number of recipients who will respond to the treatment. The value is calculated by multiplying the value of the Estimated List Size field by the value of the Estimated Response Rate field.

Additional Fields, Sections, and Tabs

Your system administrator can create additional fields for some objects and make them available for certain system types. Additional fields appear on the Details tab in the Additional Details section or in other sections or on other tabs that the system administrator creates.

For more information about an additional field, section, or tab, contact your system administrator. For more information about additional fields in general, see Additional Fields.
