Master Offer List

An offer is a benefit, such as a product, service, or discount. Some offers are activity specific, and some are available to all activities. The master offer list shows all the offers in Aprimo. In the master offer list you can create and edit offers that are not activity specific. When you do this, you can associate an incentive, treatments, products, and channels with the offer.

Note:
To create or edit an activity-specific offer, use the Activity Offers module.
Example:
You work for a bank that provides three types of credit cards: silver, gold, and platinum. You want to give silver and gold card customers in good standing the opportunity to upgrade. You create two offers:
  • Offer #1
Customers with gold accounts can upgrade to a platinum account.
  • Offer #2
Customers with silver accounts can upgrade to a gold account.

You create treatments and incentives, associate them with the appropriate offer, and associate the offers with the activity for the campaign. In the activity, you create a segmentation to determine the eligible customers and the offer and treatment to send each customer.

Details

Field Description
Offer Code

Type an offer code, which you can use to track the use of the offer in activities. Your organization defines the format for offer codes.

Offer Type

Optionally, select the offer type, which determines the incentives you can associate with the offer.

If you do not select an offer type, you can associate any incentive with the offer. An offer type is a system type.

Channels

Optionally, select the media or methods, such as television or direct mail, through which treatments associated with the offer are delivered. The channels you select determine the treatments you can associate with the offer.

If you do not select channels, you can associate any treatment with the offer. A channel is a system type.

Status Select the offer's status:
  • Draft
An offer that is not activity specific initially has the Draft status. In Draft status, you can edit the offer's details, but you can't associate the offer with activities.
  • Current
You can associate an offer that has the Current status with an activity. An offer remains in the Current status until the expiration date occurs, or until you select a different status.
  • Expired
An offer is set to the Expired status automatically when the expiration date for the offer occurs. You cannot associate an Expired offer with additional activities. However, an offer associated with an activity is not removed from the activity when the status changes to Expired. You can change the status to or from Expired as needed. For example, if an offer is extended past the original expiration date, you can change the status back to Current.
Begin Date

Select the date the offer begins.

Expiration Date

Select the date the offer ends. When the expiration date occurs, the status automatically changes to Expired.

Incentive

Select the incentive for the offer. The offer's offer type and the offer types specified for incentives determine the available incentives. An incentive is available to select when one of these conditions is met:

  • The offer's offer type is also a valid offer type for the incentive.
  • No valid offer types are specified for the incentive.
Products

Select products from the master product list to associate with the offer.

Activity-Specific

If set to Yes, the offer is associated with a specific activity. If set to No, you can associate the offer with any activity. You can edit this field only if it is set to Yes. To edit this field, you must access the activity-specific activity offer.

Additional Fields, Sections, and Tabs

Your system administrator can create additional fields for some objects and make them available for certain system types. Additional fields appear on the Details tab in the Additional Details section or in other sections or on other tabs that the system administrator creates.

For more information about an additional field, section, or tab, contact your system administrator. For more information about additional fields in general, see Additional Fields.

Access List

The access list determines the users who can view the offer and the users who can edit the offer. It contains the names of users and groups, and the level of access they have. The rights you assign on this tab govern user access to master offers only. The access list for an activity governs user access to an activity offer.

Two levels of access are available for offers:

  • View
A user can view an offer. The user cannot create, edit, or delete an offer.
  • Edit
A user can view, edit, and delete an offer that is not activity specific.
