Master Incentive List

An incentive is an enticement to encourage the recipients of an offer to act on the offer. For example, an incentive can be a free gift or points for a customer loyalty club. The master incentive list shows all the incentives in Aprimo. You can associate an incentive with an activity or offer. When you associate an offer with an activity, an incentive associated with the offer becomes associated with the activity.

Note:
You can also create incentives in the activity.

You work for a bank that offers several types of credit card accounts. Your new marketing campaign offers customers who have a gold account in good standing the opportunity to upgrade to a platinum account. You include the incentive of a 0.0% interest rate for one year. Because you plan to run this campaign again in the future, you decide that the offer and incentive should not be specific to the activity for this campaign:

  • You create a master offer. When you create an offer in the master offer list, it is not activity specific.
  • You create a master incentive. When you create an incentive in the master incentive list, it is not activity specific.
  • You associate the master incentive with the master offer.
  • In the activity for the campaign, you add the master offer to the activity.

Details

Field Description
Incentive Code

Type an incentive code, which you can use to track the incentive in activities and offers. Your organization defines the format for incentive codes.

Incentive Type

Select the incentive type. The incentive type determines the types of offers with which you can associate the incentive. An incentive type is a system type.

Activity-Specific

If set to Yes, this field indicates that the incentive is associated with a specific activity and cannot be associated with any other activity. If set to No, this field indicates that you can associate the incentive with any activities. You can edit this field only if it is set to Yes. To edit it, you must access the activity-specific incentive in the activity's Incentives module.

Status

Select the incentive's status. An incentive must have the Active status before you can associate it with an activity or offer. If you change an incentive's status from Active to Inactive, the incentive is still available to any activities and offers with which it is associated, but it cannot be associated with any additional activities or offers.

Cost Details

Optionally, use the Cost Details section to track the estimated and actual costs to deliver the incentive to a recipient.

Field Description
Currency Code

Select the currency in which to store the costs.

For information about using multiple currencies with the application, see Using Aprimo Internationally. For information about the currencies available in your Aprimo implementation, contact your system administrator.

If you change the currency code after you enter estimated and actual costs, the costs do not automatically convert to the new currency code. You must manually change the costs.

Treatment Cost Type

Select the type of treatment cost you want to record. Each row of cost details must record a different cost type. A treatment cost type is a system type.

Estimated Unit Cost

Type the estimated cost to deliver the incentive to a single recipient. When you associate an incentive with an activity, incentive costs in the master incentive are carried over to the activity incentive. In the Incentives module in an activity, you can change these values to estimate the costs for the incentive in the activity.

Recording activity incentive costs changes the incentive costs in the master incentive only if the incentive is activity specific.

Actual Unit Cost

Type the actual cost to deliver the incentive to a single recipient. When you associate an incentive with an activity, incentive costs in the master incentive are carried over to the activity incentive. In the Incentives module in an activity, you can change these values to record the costs for the incentive in the activity.

Recording incentive costs in an activity changes the incentive costs in the master record only if the incentive is activity specific.

Additional Fields, Sections, and Tabs

Your system administrator can create additional fields for some objects and make them available for certain system types. Additional fields appear on the Details tab in the Additional Details section or in other sections or on other tabs that the system administrator creates.

For more information about an additional field, section, or tab, contact your system administrator. For more information about additional fields in general, see Additional Fields.
