Activity Incentives

An incentive is an enticement to encourage the recipients of an offer to act on the offer. The Incentives module in an activity displays all the incentives associated with the activity. Incentives you create in an activity can be specific to the activity or available to all activities from the master incentive list.

Example:
You work for a bank that will soon celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary. A campaign will target your credit card customers who are eligible to upgrade their gold accounts to platinum accounts. The incentive is a promotional interest rate. Because this campaign will occur only once, you want the offer, incentive, and treatments to be specific to the activity for the campaign:
  • You create an activity offer.
  • You create an activity incentive.
  • You create two activity treatments: an email message and a direct mail flyer.
  • You add the incentive and the treatments to the offer.

Field Description
Activity-Specific

Choose whether the incentive is available to the current activity or to all activities. After you select No and save the incentive, the field is read-only.

Cost Details

Use the Cost Details section to track the estimated and actual costs to deliver the incentive. Adding cost details to an incentive is optional. For more information, see the Cost Details key fields for master incentives.

Cost details recorded in the master incentive are copied when you add the incentive to an activity. You can edit the cost details of the activity incentive. Editing the cost details of an activity incentive that is not activity specific does not change them in the master incentive, but if you edit the cost details of an activity-specific incentive, the changes appear in the master incentive.

Additional Fields, Sections, and Tabs

Your system administrator can create additional fields for some objects and make them available for certain system types. Additional fields appear on the Details tab in the Additional Details section or in other sections or on other tabs that the system administrator creates.
