Deleting System Types

You can delete a system type that has not been assigned to any records. You should only delete a system type for these reasons:

  • The type was configured by mistake.
  • The type was configured correctly, but has never been used.

Deleting a system type permanently removes it from the application.

Tip:
You can also change the type's status to Inactive. Changing the status does not affect any records already assigned to the system type. However, the system type cannot be assigned to new records while it is inactive.
  1. On the main navigation column, point to System Administration, and click System Tools.
  2. On the navigation column, point to Configuration, and click System Types.
  3. Point to the action icon for the object for which you want to create a new type, and click View.
  4. Point to the action icon for the type, and click Delete.
  5. Click OK.
