Maintaining Extended Attribute Shared Options Sets

Shared options sets are sets of extended attribute selection options that can be reused to populate the selection options for Multiple Selection or Picklist-Encoded extended attributes.

You can create, edit, and delete shared options sets. When you create a Multiple Selection or Picklist-Encoded extended attribute, you can add a shared options set to populate your extended attribute's selection options.

  1. On the navigation column, point to System Administration, and click System Tools.
  2. On the navigation column, point to Configuration, and click Extended Attributes.
  3. Click Shared Options Sets.
  4. To create a new shared options set, click New.
    Tips:
    • To edit an existing shared options set, point to the set's action icon, and click Edit Details.
    • To delete a shared options set, point to the set's action icon, and click Delete.
  5. Complete the fields.
  6. In the Selection Options section, click Add to create one option, or click Add Multiple to create more than one option. When you add multiple options, type a semicolon between each option.
  7. To move the options up or down in the list, click the up and down arrows.
  8. To remove a selection option from the list, click Remove.
  9. To alphabetize the options, click Alphabetize Options.
  10. Click Save.
    Notes:
    • You can delete an options set only if it, including any of its child sets, is not associated with any extended attributes. You can give a set the Inactive status only when all extended attributes associated with it also have Inactive status.
    • When you add or edit a shared options set, the application republishes any inbound forms that use an extended attribute referenced in the shared options set.
