Creating a Field-Level Filter

When a list field has a filter icon (), you can create a field-level filter to limit the selection options.

Note:
Depending on your database configuration, filter criteria might be case sensitive. For more information, contact your system administrator.
Example:

You want to select Ken Yardley as an activity's administrator. However, the Administrator field only lists 50 users by default. Because you have over 100 users, the list only contains users whose last names start with the letters A through O.

To find Ken Yardley, you create a field-level filter with this criteria:

  • Attribute: Last Name
  • Operator: starts with
  • Value: Y

When you save the filter, the field only lists users whose last names start with Y. You select Ken Yardley, and finish configuring the activity.

  1. Click the Filter icon () next to the field.
  2. Complete the fields on the row of criteria.
  3. To specify an additional value for the row, click Add Criteria, and enter the value.
  4. To define additional criteria, click Add Filter Criteria, and complete the fields.
    Note:
You must complete all the fields on each row of criteria. Delete incomplete rows.
  5. Click Save.
