The Gantt Chart

The Gantt chart is a graphical representation of a project's tasks. The Gantt chart shows the project or change order tasks in a list on the left side of the page, and it shows the graphical chart on the right side of the page. The task timeline appears by day. Use the horizontal scroll bars to see more days.

The Gantt chart depicts which tasks can be performed simultaneously. The chart also displays dependencies among tasks. From the Gantt chart, you can save the projected timeline as a snapshot, reset the baseline, and print the Gantt chart.

Example:
You have a new project starting for creating a print advertisement. The project has many tasks assigned to different groups and overlapping with each other. You want to view the tasks in chart form to better see the overall project timeline, so you view the project's Gantt chart.
